Join us for our 8th Annual “Cabin Fever Radio Follies!“

It’s that time of year again, not quite spring, not quite winter; the time when cabin fever strikes. The Walpole Players have the perfect cure, “Cabin Fever Radio Follies”! Get out of the house and join the fun on Saturday March 14 in the Helen Miller Theatre on the second floor of Walpole Town Hall. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7 pm.
You are sure to see old friends, make new ones and catch up on the adventures of Fibber Magee and Molly; see what is going on at Garish Summit, and hear plenty of new skits and songs. With so many old radio shows, it is often hard to narrow down the choices to just a few, but the cast has done a great job of finding new programs. Adding to the fun, the cast will be doing many of their own sound effects.
The show is presented cabaret style, tables are set with tablecloths, and you are welcome to bring an indoor picnic or buffet. This show is always a sell out, so get your tickets right away. Tickets are $10 and are available at Joanie Joan’s Eatery & Baked Goods, 14 Westminster St., Walpole, NH.
For more information call (603) 499-1027 or email WalpolePlayers@gmail.com.

AUDITIONS!

Auditions for The Wind in the Willows will take place Sunday, March 8 at 5:00 PM and Wednesday, March 11 at 6:30 PM, in the Helen Miller Theater on the second floor of the Walpole Town Hall. If you are unable to come at either of these times, please email WalpolePlayers@gmail.com and we will find a way to accommodate you. This play has over 30 characters, not including children’s roles, and while one person can play more than one role, we need a large cast, including lots of children! So please spread the word if you know of anyone who might be interested themselves, or has children or grandchildren who might like to be in this play.

This play, written by Alan Bennett and based on Kenneth Grahame’s beloved book, premiered at the National Theatre in London 1990, and made its debut in the U.S. in 1993 by The Walpole Players! Lisa Bryan will be directing this production.

If you want to be involved, but acting isn’t your thing, we also need a stage manager and crew, set designers and builders, someone to run lights and sound, and an Assistant Director. If you are interested in helping out with any of these things, please come to the auditions or email WalpolePlayers@gmail.com.

Performance dates are the weekend before and week of our Old Home Days celebration, on June19, 20, 21, 25, and 27. Rehearsals will begin in April and will be every Tuesday and Thursday evening and Sunday afternoon. However, because each scene often involves a different set of characters, not everyone will need to be present at every rehearsal and most conflicts should be accommodated relatively easily.

Hope to see lots of people there!

Murder Myster Dinner!

The Walpole Players will present an original murder mystery dinner, Murder on the Vine, in the newly renovated hall of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Walpole, which is located directly across Westminster Street from the Town Hall, on February 7 and 8, with February 21 and 22 as inclement weather dates.  Doors open at 6:00 PM, with appetizers starting at 6:30 PM, and dinner served at 7:00 PM.  Proceeds will go to the Church’s fundraising campaign for roof repairs.  The production has been written by Walpole Players member Jeanie Levesque, who is also directing.

Set in an Italian winery, an entertaining cast of over a dozen actors will present a mystery during the course of an Italian-themed dinner (vegetarian option included).  Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided, and guests are invited to bring their own wine.  If they wish, guests will be able to participate in solving the mystery, or may choose to simply watch events unfold!  Coming dressed in 1950s attire is encouraged as part of the fun.

Tickets for the dinner and entertainment are $35.  Reservations are required, as there is limited seating!  Please call 603-756–2535, or email  WalpolePlayers@gmail.com, to make your reservation.

This will be an evening of great fun and entertainment–you won’t want to miss it!

Thank you!

Our annual holiday fundraiser “In Bethlehem Inn” was a fantastic success! We raised $1200 to split between the Fall Mountain Food Shelf and Our Place Drop-In Center. Thank you to our wonderful community for coming together to make this happen!

Becky Pearson and Jenny Plante delivered checks to both organizations in time for Christmas!

IN BETHLEHEM INN promises to delight all ages for the holidays

Travel back in time with the Walpole Players when they present John Carter’s In Bethlehem Inn. You are invited to be a guest at the Bethlehem Inn and enjoy a light supper reminiscent of the era, including soup, bread, cheese, fruit and dessert. Guests may bring a beverage of their choice.

We will celebrate the holiday season by reenacting the events of the night when two weary travelers arrived in Bethlehem to pay their taxes.

Inn guests will enjoy a humorous performance by the Players while helping to support the Fall Mountain Food Shelf and Our Place in Bellows Falls, VT.

The performance will take place at the Walpole Town Hall on Saturday, December 14. Tickets are available at Joanie Joan’s at 14 Westminster Street in Walpole. The cost is $15 each or two for $25. Doors open at 6:45 PM and the fun begins at 7:00.

Auditions!

The Walpole Players announces auditions for an upcoming murder mystery dinner event, “Murder on the Vine,” an Agatha Christie-inspired evening. Auditions will be held Sunday, October 20, 4:00-6:30 pm, and Wednesday, October 23, 6:00-8:30 pm, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Walpole, located at the corner of Westminster and Elm Streets, across from the Town Hall.

Performances will be Friday and Saturday evening, February 7 & 8, 2020, with snow dates February 21 and 22. This event is a fundraiser for the Church’s renovation fund. Rehearsals will be 1-2 times per week in January.

The setting is at a vineyard/hotel in Italy, where guests gather at a dinner for prospective buyers from Walpole, NH. Everyone has a secret and a motive for murder! In place of the Christie-esque snowstorm that strands everyone at the hotel, there is a volcanic eruption and no one will be allowed to leave (until dessert, that is!). This is an interactive show, and audience participation is encouraged.

The murder mystery will feature at least 8 actors in brief comedic scripted scenes with lots of improv.  Adults of all ages and types are invited to audition – including experienced high school actors. No preparation necessary. We just ask that you plan to stay until the audition is finished, since it will be done in a group format. Casting is flexible and the number of actors can be expanded.  Jeanie Levesque, the director, has performed in, directed and produced several productions in the area, including several mystery dinners.

Even if you’ve never done improv before, come and try your hand at the audition. Fun is guaranteed!

For more info, please email WalpolePlayers@gmail.com, send a personal Facebook message to Jeanie Levesque, or post it to the Walpole Players Facebook Page.
