1940s COMEDY COMING TO WALPOLE PLAYERS

Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit,, a comedy of both Broadway and London Theatre, will be staged by the Walpole Players on the weekends of May 13 and May 20. This hit offers up the antics of cantankerous novelist Charles Condomine, re-married but haunted (literally) by the ghost of his late first wife, the clever and insistent Elvira, who is called up by a visiting “happy medium”, one Madame Arcati. As the (worldly and un-) personalities clash, Charles’ current wife, Ruth, is accidentally killed.  As she “passes over”, she joins Elvira, and then the two “blithe spirits” haunt the hapless Charles into perpetuity.

Auditions for the cast of 7 adults (5 females and 2 males), will take place at the Walpole Town Hall on Thursday and Friday, February 18 and 19, at 6:30 pm. Ideally, interested actors will audition for specific roles using excerpts from the script.  Please contact the Walpole Players at WalpolePlayers@gmail.com to get copies of the excerpts.

The Walpole Players are also looking for a Director, Producer, and Stage Manager for this play. Look into your crystal ball to see if it is in your future to be a part of this hilarious production!
